Provenance

Worn by three generations of Winterbourne brides and never offered publicly before this sale.

Openwork platinum garland design set throughout with old European and rose cut diamonds, the whole of pierced lace like construction. Circa 1905.

The top lot of our spring season. Five bidders remained above fifty thousand dollars and the final contest ran between a private collector in the room and a European trade buyer on the telephone.

Condition: excellent, with original pin stem and safety catch. Accompanied by an independent laboratory report confirming approximately eighteen carats total diamond weight.
