Provenance

From the principal bedchamber, where it stood against the north wall for as long as anyone recalled.

Two panelled doors above three graduated long drawers, on bracket feet, retaining the original cast brass handles and escutcheons. English, circa 1780.

A sound and honest example of a form that rarely excites the market but always finds a buyer. The sliding trays are present and intact, which is less common than the catalogue photographs of most linen presses would suggest.

Condition: old surface with expected shrinkage to the door panels. One tray with a repaired split. No replaced elements.
